Education

M.F.A. Theater Design - Yale School of Drama - 2005. Trained under Jane Greenwood and Jess Goldstein (costume design), Ming Cho Lee and Michael Yeargan (set design), and Jennifer Tipton and Stephen Strawbridge (lighting design). 
B.A. cum laude English Literature - Harvard University - 2000. Awarded a Radcliffe Fellowship and a John Harvard Scholarship for academic distinction.
Non-degree coursework: The American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA (acting) , The Carol Hickey Acting Studio in Austin, TX (acting), The Massachusetts College of Art (figure drawing, pattern drafting), The Art Students League of New York (figure drawing, watercolor), and The School of Visual Arts in New York City (photography, painting).

Solo Exhibition - Boston School of Fashion Design Gallery - Liaisons: A Connection between Costume and Couture. Showcased the costumes, original costume sketches, and historical and contemporary couture research used to design the costumes for the Huntington Theater’s production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

Guest Lecturer - Boston School of Fashion Design - 2006
Lectured and led group discussions on the skills required for a professional costume design career and the realities of life in professional theater.

Teaching Artist - Roundabout Theater Company - 2000-2002
Worked with the education outreach department of a top Broadway theater to teach NYC public high school students the basics of costume design and direct them in designing their own staged productions. 


Producing

Co-founder and Producer - Reverie Theatre Co. - 2019

Co-founded a small theater company in Austin, TX to produce the Austin premiere of a single play, Outside Mullingar by John Patrick Shanley. Chose the script, arranged the rights and theater space, applied for and was granted a cultural grant from the city of Austin, hired all cast and crew personnel, constructed and managed the budget, designed and built the set, designed the costumes, and starred in the play. Outside Mullingar received 3 B. Iden Payne award nominations for the cast and numerous BroadwayWorld award nominations for the cast and crew. Visit reverietheatre.org for more information.

Required familiarity with fabric types as well as all the fabric stores, notion stores, and department stores in NYC. Assisted with stitching as needed. Helped creating costumes for multiple Broadway shows and major film productions.

Responsible for all costume budgeting and scheduling, assisted in costume construction, repairs, and fittings, maintained the school costume stock, and assisted costume designers as needed. 

Assistant Costume Shop Manager & Wardrobe Supervisor - Playwrights Horizons Theater - 2000-2001
Assisted in the design and construction of costumes for a renowned Off-Broadway theater. Attended fittings and oversaw costume repairs. Lead dresser and wardrobe supervisor for all productions. 

Costume Intern - Williamstown Theatre Festival - 2000
Assisted in the design and construction of costumes for the nation’s top summer theater festival. Assisted at fittings, constructed garments, maintained wigs, and was a dresser and wardrobe supervisor for multiple productions throughout the summer.
